Museum Display Case:
The uniform is that of Admiral Harwood, Commander of the British fleet that defeated the German battleship the Graf Spee December 1939. One of the ships of the fleet was the HMS Ajax, after which our town was named. The uniform was worn by the Admiral until his retirement in 1945.
